A year and a half has passed since we opened the registration for the 2016 EAFCF Retreat. We praise God that it was successful and well attended. Our main speaker was Michael Rhoad Associate Pastor from ICC in Virginia Beach who himself attended EAFCF retreats as a youth in the 1990’s. Pastor Mike delivered powerful and life-changing messages.
Our 2016 retreat facility was not very big so online registration initially capped at 125 was closed when there were 150 registered. But many still wanted to attend and participate. To accommodate more participants, the use of dormitory type lodging was negotiated allowing for a total to 204 retreat attendees. With such an attendance size there were additional volunteers needed particularly for the children’s ministry because previous arrangements sadly did not work out. God used retreat leaders and some retreat attendees to minister to the children. We thank God for providing more space as well as all workers needed during the retreat.
Having been on hiatus after its 2007 retreat, 2016 is a reboot of sorts for EAFCF. With no funding but trusting God’s providence, sufficiency and perfect timing, the leadership decided to have a retreat targeting 125 attendees. The Lord has been faithful to EAFCF since its inception in 1985 and He never fails to provide. He gave us 204 attendees, enough funding and time to plan/prepare for a retreat in 2018. God is good indeed!
This year is another chapter in our book, the 2018 EAFCF Retreat registration is now open. This year’s theme is based on the book of Nehemiah and on how he led in rebuilding the wall so that they can remain strong as children of God. Our purpose is to realize that we are “BROKEN,” we are all in need of “REBUILDING” so that we can fully “SERVE” our mighty God.
